 Featured Artist - Zoe Woods
Image In our December newsletter I wrote about Zoe Woods who won the Emerging Glass Artist Award from Kirra Galleries for her work entered in the Art Vision: ‘Glass in a Fragile World’ exhibition held in Mansfield.

At the time I wrote I had seen Zoe’s work but had not had an opportunity to meet her or familiarise myself with her extensive curriculum vitae.   Zoe lives in Adelaide but is currently visiting Melbourne and I had a chance to meet her yesterday at our Gallery in Fed Square.

Zoe’s youth belies her maturity and her curriculum vitae shows that she has dedicated all her energies towards learning and producing art glass.  In conversation with her I noticed that she soaks up knowledge and information ‘like a sponge’ and I predict a bright and fruitful future for her.

In 2010 she won the National Student Glass Prize from the National Glass Museum in Wagga Wagga – a feat she repeated in 2012.   Zoe graduated from the South Australian School of Art in 2012 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts Honours (First Class) and she is continually developing her skills and has already attended a number of specialised workshops in Australia.   In 2012 Zoe participated in a course run by Martin Rosol and Pavel Novak at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York.  Her work is represented in the National Glass Collection in the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and she has won numerous prizes across Australia.
